|Welcome to Germany|
The Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA) and the Bund Deutscher Architekten BDA invite architects and students of architecture from around the world to Berlin and other German cities in July 2002 to discuss the responsibilities and qualifications required for the design of our environment and sustainable building in the urban context: Resource Architecture.
Since 1989, Berlin has developed into a capital city and 21st century European metropolis . Society and politics, culture and business, ecology and traffic, centre and periphery, laboratory and workshop - the "open Berlin" is a point of departure for the future, fascinating architects from throughout the world. The city offers an almost unbeatable variety of sights and world art treasures, as well as architecture from the past and present, providing an adequate setting for the World Congress of Architecture at the beginning of a new century.
Our goal is to provide the Congress with a wide variety of content and presentational forms, focusing on innovative and forward-looking contributions and projects, especially from young colleagues and experts from other disciplines. We are looking forward to a positive global response and cordially invite all those with a commitment and an interest to Berlin. In July 2002, the world will meet here for a Dialogue about the future of the built environment.
